Here at The Bear and Blacksmith, we take great pride in sourcing and cooking the best produce around. Our purpose is to serve you locally grown fresh food bursting with flavour!
The Bear & Blacksmith
The Bear and Blacksmith are proud to supply chicken and pork reared from our personal farm in South Allington. When demand for this meat is high we also get supplies from The Salcombe Meat Company.
Our fresh vegetables and herbs are grown in our poly tunnel and also on site at the pub itself. We also use Wilton Farm in South Pool to ensure that we have enough.
The Salcombe Meat Company
Rob and Kelly Barons in Slapton are responsible for our grass fed Dexter beef which is then supplied to us by Alex Brazier at The Salcombe Meat Company.
Alex also supplies our rare breed lamb, which is reared himself producing some of the best cuts around.
The Salcombe Fish Wife
For fresh fish and shellfish it has to be day boat fishing supplied from our other business venture The Salcombe Fish Wife. We also hand pick the best crab around the South Hams.
Britannia of Beesands
Nick and Anita Hutchings of Britannia Fish & Shellfish in Beesands supply us with their speciality -hand picked Start Bay Scallops and also the day boat wet fish .
RD Johns & Forest Produce
Our quality speciality and dry store goods are supplied from RD Johns and Forest Produce. We work closely with them and share an understanding for high standards and excellence.
