Our friendly pub based in Chillington boasts a warm and welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike.
We are proud to support local suppliers and serve a delicious range of locally grown produce and drinks.
Our menu features the freshest fish and seafood from the shores surrounding the pub, as well as a selection of Devon’s finest meat sourced and butchered from our own farm and also from The Salcombe Meat Co.
This is all accompanied by our lovingly home grown vegetables or produce from Wilton Farm in South Pool.

The Kitchen Garden
Claire grows a range of home grown vegetables from seed and then lovingly cares for the kitchen garden situated right next to the pub.
Our 4 1/2 acre small holding in South Allington where we rear pigs, lambs, chickens and Christmas poultry. A couple of poly tunnels grow additional veg that can’t br grown in the Kitchen Garden.
The Salcombe Day Boat “Hustler” run by father and son team Phil & Adam Cardew catch our Crab. Rod and line caught fish come from Chris Roberts and his boat “Anglo Dawn”.

Wilton Farm in South Pool supplement what the Kitchen Garden and Farm can’t produce with a variety of Vegetables, The Salcombe Meat Company & Durrants Butchers provide high quality meats that we don’t rear ourselves.

Our tried and tasted local drinks come from the South Hams Brewery (just down the road), Bays Brewery (in Torbay), Lusbcombe Drinks (near Buckfastleigh) & Otter Brewery (near Honiton).

Firm believers in responsibly sourcing all their produce, The Bear & Blacksmith haven’t stopped at just a Kitchen Garden, looking after their own livestock means that they know exactly how well looked the animals are.

Fantastic seafood platter of fresh lobster, crab, mussels, scallops etc. Beautifully prepared and presented. I travel all over Asia Pacific and this is one of the best and freshest meals I’ve had. Strongly recommended
